What It Was

The Thirty-Second Annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House, a five story townhouse on Park Avenue and 64th Street in New York City that every year benefits the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club. Lightswitch was asked to design the lighting for the “Park Avenue Theater” located in the house.

The Theater was designed by TK Theaters of New York.

What We Did

Lightswitch designed the lighting for the theater as well as an adjoining entrance area and the powder room. We designed the spaces with Color Kinetics and Translite Sonoma fixtures to create dynamic changes of color in the spaces. The theater space was entirely lit by color changing fixtures that made for a very theatrical look.

Why It Worked

Lightswitch coordinated with TK Theaters, Audio Command Systems and the other team members to deliver a much talked about product. The “Park Avenue Theater” was completely assembled of donated materials including all the lighting fixtures and Lightswitch was happy to participate in the project for such a good cause.
