What It Was

The Chrysler Group consisting of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands has looked to Lightswitch to design the lighting for its exhibits at all the major auto shows in North American since 2001 and their press events since 1998. Today Lightswitch lights nearly 62,000 square feet of exhibit space at the Detroit Auto Show. In Chicago the booth is 3 times that size.

What We Did

Lightswitch designers collaborated with exhibit designers on all aspects of the design integrating architectural as well as theatrical lighting fixtures into the exhibit space. Lightswitch’s design created a sense of visual movement and theatricality that is unprecedented in the auto show industry. Lightswitch also designed for 3 completely different brands within the Chrysler Group and created magnificent environments for each one.

Why It Worked

Auto Show exhibits are built on teamwork. There are a lot of vendors contributing to the overall design and communication is key. Because the Lightswitch team is so diverse in their technical knowledge they are able to coordinate with all the other teams to ensure the lighting and multi media are incorporated into the final design and then executed within the budget. The end result is true spectacle.
